The name of the plants is Thellungiella halophila(in English saltcress) which is a close relative to Arabidopsis thaliana, the model system for plant molecular biology. Compared with Arabidopsis, Thellungiella is much more salt and drought tolerant. That's the reason of why Thellungiella has drawn attention from researchers all over the world. KM,\

The aim of the program is screening los-of-function mutants from T-DNA insertion lines and characterizing genes which confer salt tolerance, drought tolerance and any other phenotypes of interest. 6bg

My work is to cultivate Thellungiella and infect the plants with Agrobacterium tumefaciens by floral-dip method. The agrobacterium strain I used was haboured with a modified Ti-plasmid, which can deliver T-DNA to the plant genome. hW<%R]^|
